Dental care in the United States is delivered mostly by private practices: a general or family dentist who handles exams, cleanings, fillings and crowns, and refers out anything that needs a specialist. Group practices and dental clinics put several dentists, hygienists and sometimes specialists under one roof, often with evening and Saturday hours. Most offices ask new patients for a comprehensive exam with X-rays before routine cleanings, which the American Dental Association recommends every six months. Prices are set by each practice, and most accept dental insurance (PPO plans more widely than HMO ones), CareCredit-style financing or an in-house membership plan for people without coverage. Emergency dental services take same-day patients for toothaches, broken teeth and abscesses, usually at a premium.

Hours are published for 5 days a week. The most common schedule is 8 am–4:30 pm. Note that it does not open on Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach St. Luke's OMS - Allentown at (610) 865-8077; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Allentown is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Allentown is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Absolutely terrible experience, was supposed to get all my wisdom teeth out, they couldn’t keep me sedated long enough to do so, so they only took 2 out and told me they won’t treat me anymore. So now I have to go thru the whole consultation process again with another oral surgeon and get the other 2 removed. On top of that they didn’t even extract the tooth that was bothering me the most. No empathy from doctor or staff, just quick to take my money and shove me out the door. If I could do 0 stars I would.

Both of my children had wisdom teeth out and St Luke’s was amazing. My kids saw Dr Daniel Lader and Dr Veronica Barrett and I loved them both. Very professional, answered all my questions, made me feel at ease. They both took wonderful care of my kids from beginning to end. Neither of my kids had that much pain or swelling which I couldn’t believe! So happy with our experience there. The front desk was wonderful and confirmed our insurance way beforehand. We will be going here for all of our oral surgery needs. Thank you so much!!

Dr. Daniel Lader was super friendly and helpful during the initial consult for molar extraction. We appreciated he was professional and all business on day of oral surgery and the support team was great, too. However, the billing is taking months and is challenging in that insurance is asking for information (tooth notes, EOB, etc) and are claiming non-receipt from St. Luke's OMS and St. Luke's OMS is claiming the same of the insurance carrier. Feels as if the desired result is for patients to pay out of pocket in the end to St. Luke's OMS.

Jenni S and Alexandra were amazing assistants on the process of getting my wisdom teeth out. I was so nervous but they helped me every step of the way.

I went to my dentist back in March, and they recommended St. Luke's to remove my wisdom teeth. I called to schedule the appointment after that visit. They told me I wasn't able to get in until the end of August. I was fine with waiting and planned my medical leave for the rest of the week after surgery. I had my ride take me to the appointment fully expecting surgery to take place. They take me in and do X-rays. My dentist already had X-rays on file that could have easily been sent over. The doctor takes a look at my teeth, tells me they are starting to impact my molars and are starting to cause cavities. After this, he wants to schedule the surgery for November. When I asked why the surgery wasn't happening that day, he tells me that they don't do surgeries that late in the day. Maybe I wouldn't have cavities forming if they didn't schedule a 5 min consultation appointment 5 months out. I will definitely be going to another orthopedic surgeon to have my wisdom teeth removed. This was nothing but a money making scam by St. Luke's.
